The included lag bolts are for wood, so anchor the brackets into wall studs for the firmest hold. If the studs don't line up, attach a 1x4 or 2x4 painted to match your wall across the studs and mount the brackets to that board. Is this wrought iron?
It's heavy-duty iron, built on an iron tube frame, with the classic wrought iron look and a hand-rubbed charcoal brown finish.
How far apart should I space the two panels?
For a continuous screen, mount them edge to edge so the grid reads as one wide panel. To frame a door or window, center one panel on each side.
Do I need the ground spikes when mounting on a wall?
Usually not. Most customers leave them off with the brackets, but you can add them if the panels sit close to soil and you want extra stability.
Can I use the panels freestanding?
Yes. Attach the ground spikes and set them in a garden bed as stand-alone metal trellises for climbing plants.
Can I paint them a different color?
Yes. The smooth finish takes spray paint well if you'd like a color that matches your home.
