The included lag bolts are made for wood, so drive them into wall studs for the most secure trellis on a wall. If the studs don't line up with the brackets, attach a 1x4 or 2x4 painted to match your wall across the studs and mount the brackets to it. For brick, masonry or stucco, use hardware designed for that surface, and check with a local contractor if you have concerns.
