Materials & Care

Because this Wardian Case is not sealed, care is closer to a bright indoor plant display than a self-contained terrarium. Use your preferred approach—plant directly in the tray (with proper layers) or place potted plants inside for easy swaps.

Planting (Layering Method)

1. Start with a thin layer of pea gravel for drainage.
2. Mix in a small handful of activated charcoal and spread evenly.
3. Add soil to your desired planting depth.
4. Create cavities, place plants, and tamp soil to remove air pockets.
5. Water lightly and monitor—avoid waterlogged soil.

Avoid harsh direct sunlight. Rotate plants occasionally, wipe glass with a clean cloth, and prune as needed.
